I weighed in today and I lost 1lb! yay. I am excited and content but a little sad that I didn't loose more. This week is going to be even better. I don't have any parties or BBQ's to go to, so I'm hoping all will go better. I calculated last week I had an average of 2.7 activity points a day. How awesome is that!
My goal for this week is to have that many activity points or more. Wish me luck.
I just realized that I still have not devised the challenge. Anyone have any ideas?

weekend of parties and I am really counting
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to go to two parties in a row. I went to my friend Jorin's photography opening at Awaken Cafe in Oakland. I don't know if any of you have ever experienced 1st Friday, it rocks! Every Monday in Oakland a bunch of art galleries stay open late and have a free showcase of the exhibits that are showing. They have free food and drink, bands and community. I had an awesome time as it started to cool down yesterday, meeting some of Jorin and Robyn's friends, looking at art and listening to music. I ate dinner before hand, didn't drink anything because I had to drive to SF, and only had two pieces of toast with tomatoes, mozzarella and basil. I would say that I was very successful at this party.
As the sun went down, I left lovely oakland and headed to the Whole Foods for some veggies and hummus to bring to Jeff's birthday party in the city. My snack was very successful. I had a great time at the party, but I proceeded to have some sangria, which to my credit had a lot of fruit in it. And then I ate a few more nachos than I should have. Overall, I think I made a lot of good choices, like fruits and veggies and stopping after two glasses of sangria, and having a few bites of the birthday cake. I am pretty happy today thinking about it, except for the nachos, because I was conscious of what I was doing. I'm sure I wasn't hungry or thirsty when I was consuming all those empty calories in the past. I would have just deducted all of my 35 extra points and been done with it.
Did I mention that I've become addicted to the online points tracker this week, I mean I've been using the online points tracker this week. uh...It's pretty cool. I think I may have tried the tracker a few WW attempts ago and I didn't really like it then. It was probably because I didn't have internet access whenever I ate. I couldn't find my journal, so I decided to try it this week. It is really easy, I just search for whatever food I ate and then input it into the tracker. All I have to do is measure how much I am eating and type it in. It is much easier than calculating everything.
Today, I put in what I had eaten yesterday and in addition to the reduction of my 35 extra points it added up how many points I had consumed yesterday. I didn't realize how effective it would be for me to see such a huge number as my daily points used. In a few hours I had eaten/drunk the same amount of points that I can normally eat breakfast, lunch and a snack with. It was crazy! I think it helped me to realize how foolish it is to use all my extra points that way.
Oh yeah, Fitness. Exercise is going really well this week. I've walked almost every day in a row. In the past I can see how I would have used this ankle injury as an excuse not to do anything. Now, I actually want to walk. Speaking of which, I think I'm gonna make some dinner and go for a nice long walk around the lake.
Wish me luck for the BBQ I am going to tomorrow. (I'm gonna bring spinach dip, bread, veggies, and fruit salad.)

I love the lake.
I had a lovely hour long evening walk around the lake. The sky was such a pretty blue and lake was glowing by the streetlights and the strings.
Next time I am bringing my camera to take pictures.

Tuesdays for Stephanie
I was having a stuck in my house kind of day today. I didn't have to work outside the house or get groceries or anything and by mid afternoon; I started to get a little down. My housemate wisely suggested that I needed to get out of the house.
I realized conveniently that it was just about time for a WW meeting to start as I walked towards the lake. I haven't been too good about going every week for the last few weeks, so I was a little nervous that I gained weight as I haven't really been counting my points recently. I know that I have been making good choices and eating healthier but I never really know where that is going to get me. Surprise, surprise I managed to loose 3.2 lbs. in the past two weeks. I am excited because now I am where I was before my bad week of everyone moving away from me. I'm only half a pound away from loosing 10 lbs.
WW added a new program for the next 6 weeks, for every pound we loose they are going to donate money to food organizations. I started to get excited. I have to commit to this because I have listened to many stories about how low the food is at food-banks and how much they need help right now. Immediately, I started to think about how much time I spend at SMHS working on the food drive and how much that meant to all of us to stand outside in the cold and raise money for Samaritan House.
After a yummy dinner of brown rice and thai chicken curry (homemade by me), Sonya and I went for a 45 min walk. It was so nice to see the lake as the sun was going down. My ankle didn't even hurt too much. I will be on a speedy recovery.
It's getting late and I should probably go to bed. Due to the heat I have my windows open and I hear some awesome opera music but I don't know where it is coming from.
My goal for this week is to go for a walk every day and walk around the lake every other day. Wish me luck!
