Thunder and Rain can't keep me away from the gym

Highlights of the last few months:

I joined the gym (and got a personal trainer for a little while) for New Years.
I've now lost 31 lbs.
I'm hoping that Cindy will post on this blog.
I've lost almost 2 dress sizes.
Most of my clothes don't fit, but I still wear them anyway.

I'm making my goal to go to the gym 5 days a week, Do cardio more and practice planks and pushups.

I am also committing to tracking my food, planning my meals and checking in to make sure I am not getting bored with the foods that I am eating.

I challenge you gentle reader to make goals for yourself and post them here on this very blog! Go to!

20lbs and the gym!

After last weeks craziness getting the show open and not sleeping or having any time to go to the grocery store, I was convinced that I had gained a bunch of weight. Imagine my surprise when I lost 4.6 lbs, over the past two weeks. I was floored. I guess I was walking a lot and making better choices than I thought I was even though I wasn't writing things down. I got to 20lbs lost! I kind of can't believe that I have lost so much weight. I lost 20 and change the last two times I was on WW and although I was much skinner then, I kind of petered out on the weight loss after that point because I was so excited about my smaller size and increased confidence. This time I can still wear the same clothes I was wearing before, so I've not really realized that it will show more if I wore smaller clothes. I do think another few pounds and I'm going to have a pantastrophe. (I've decided that anything can turn into a _______catastrophe. I don't remember which word worked the best.)

Sonya asked me if I noticed the weight loss, and I must admit that every day I don't, but I was looking at the gym and I do think I noticed the difference in the size of my belly and I think my double chin is getting smaller. I'm curious if my initial theory was correct, that around now more people will start noticing/ commenting on my loosing weight, but perhaps it'll take another 15 (and some newer smaller clothes) for people to really comment.

I'm shocked at how much 20lbs makes so much more of an impact in my mind than 15 or 17. I think it is because the more weight I loose the more the more permanent it is. It would take me a long while to gain back 20 lbs, where as 8-12 wouldn't be that inconceivable. (I read an article about how wallace shawn is on gossip girl, which made me really want to use that word.) I think once I get to thirty I'll be past the witching weight, then I'll be below the 200's! whoopee!

Today, before I went, I decided that I was re-committing to the program. I tracked and I went to the gym with Sonya. It wasn't that scary or bad or anything. I did the elliptical, did some weight training (which I have never really done before), and did some walking. The treadmills have tv's in them so you can watch whatever you want. I decided that I would run during the commercials, after having walked fast for a while and boy was I glad when the commercial was over. I'm gonna go tomorrow and maybe check out one of the classes or at least go run/walk for a while.

I'm going to treat myself to a new top to wear to the opening tomorrow.

I got to 200

A small victory but because I did not really exercise heavily and it was pretty slow loss I feel good.

I didn't even post the challenges...

I seem to be failing as moderator of this little blog. I think I might publicize it a little more and maybe I'll even get a comment!

I challenge myself to go to the gym and join. then I challenge myself to exercise every other day, walking at the gym or around the lake. work is getting busier (that is such a weird word.)

to challenge or not to challenge?

I weighed in today and I lost 1lb! yay. I am excited and content but a little sad that I didn't loose more. This week is going to be even better. I don't have any parties or BBQ's to go to, so I'm hoping all will go better. I calculated last week I had an average of 2.7 activity points a day. How awesome is that!

My goal for this week is to have that many activity points or more. Wish me luck.

I just realized that I still have not devised the challenge. Anyone have any ideas?
